Installing Banshee

Aside from a pretty current Gnome desktop installation, this has quite a lot of other dependencies which aren’t met without current software. I ended up building much of this from source rather than installing rpms.

Unless otherwise noted, the configure options for non-packaged software listed below is:

./configure –prefix=/usr –sysconfdir=/etc –localstatedir=/var –mandir=/usr/share/man –infodir=/usr/share/info

All of it was built and installed with:

make

make install

Software was installed in the order listed to meet dependencies.
